We are pleased to announce that Lama Mark Webber will be giving detailed teachings and meditations on Thogme Zangpo’s text: The Thirty-Seven Practices of Bodhisattvas and meditations of Bodhisattvas.
Detailed Teachings and Meditations on the Awakening Mind (bodhicitta): Bodhisattvas have a profound and continuous wish, and numerous activities for the complete liberation of self and others. Their activities spring forth from different degrees of realization of the unity of compassion and emptiness—bodhicitta. This heartfelt wish and activity is essential for unfolding the bodhisattva stages and complete Awakening. The Lama will give: 1) Detailed teachings and meditations on Thogme Zangpo’s (13th cent.) famous text called The Thirty-Seven Practices of Bodhisattvas (text provided at the teachings). Generating relative compassion and ultimate bodhicitta—thinking and doing like a bodhisattva are the mindfulness and vipaśyanā practices of the Great Vehicle of Buddhism. 2) Instructions on the profound meditation called giving and taking on the breath (Tonglen) in addition to a number of other practices. These are essential contemplations and mind trainings for the unfabricated meditations of Mahamudra and Dzogchen.
